Christopher Sheehan has filed a lawsuit against a major grocery chain and its associated parties, alleging negligence that led to his injury. The complaint was filed in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on February 21, 2025. The defendants named in the case are Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc., FRIT Florida, LLC, and an individual referred to as John Doe.

The lawsuit arises from an incident that occurred on May 23, 2022. According to the complaint, Christopher Sheehan was visiting a Winn-Dixie store located at 7024 Beracasa Way in Boca Raton, Florida. While walking near the front entrance of the store, Sheehan stepped on a foreign substance on the sidewalk which caused him to fall and sustain injuries. The plaintiff claims that Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc., as the owner and operator of the premises, failed in their duty to maintain a safe environment for customers by not addressing or warning about this hazardous condition.

Sheehan’s legal action extends beyond just Winn-Dixie. He also holds FRIT Florida, LLC accountable as they are identified as the owner or lessor of the property where the incident took place. Similar allegations are made against FRIT regarding their failure to ensure safety and provide warnings about potential dangers on their premises. Additionally, John Doe is named as a defendant; he is described as an employee of Winn-Dixie responsible for maintaining and managing store operations according to company policies.
