The Supreme Court should consider creating a standing committee or permanent commission to coordinate a comprehensive approach to helping self-represented litigants access and use the Florida court system.
That conclusion from a workgroup looking at self-represented litigants was endorsed by the Florida Court Technology Commission’s Portal Subcommittee at an April 5 meeting. The Self-Represented Litigants E-Filing Workgroup second interim report will go to the full FCTC at its August meeting.
The workgroup started out with a somewhat simpler question: To promote court efficiency, could pro se parties be required to electronically file in their cases instead, as most reportedly do, using paper filing?
