Lawyer disbarred for hiding information in his alimony case
A 56-year Bar member has been disbarred by the Supreme Court for deliberately misleading a trial court in proceedings over his back alimony payments, among other rule infractions.
The court in the October 28 opinion overrode the recommendation of the referee in the case for a one-year suspension.
“Notwithstanding [the attorney’s] long membership in The Florida Bar and lack of prior disciplinary history, we conclude that his actions in this matter demonstrate so purposeful and considered a violation of his oath of attorney as to require disbarment,” Justice John Couriel wrote for the court.
