Bill filed to provide for volunteer attorney ‘animal advocates’

Sen. Jennifer Bradley A Northwest Florida lawyer-lawmaker has filed a bipartisan measure that would allow volunteer attorneys to serve as “animal advocates” in court. Sen. Jennifer Bradley of Flemming Island filed SB 272 on October 30. Democratic Rep. Lindsay Cross of St. Petersburg, and Rep. Berny Jacques, R-Clearwater, filed the companion, HB 297.

Who wants to serve on The Florida Bar Foundation’s board?

The Board of Governors is seeking applicants to fill two attorney vacancies on The Florida Bar Foundation Board of Directors. Those selected will serve three-year terms, commencing July 1, 2024. This 33-member board of directors administers Florida’s IOTA program. Directors shall be members of the Foundation during their term(s) as directors.
