On Friday, Steve Berman and his firm, Hagens Berman, petitioned the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit to disqualify U.S. District Judge Paul Diamond of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania after he referred them to the U.S. Department of Justice for possible criminal investigation in thalidomide cases.
