Video platform Rumble files defamation lawsuit alleging smear campaign by disinformation watchdog group
LONGBOAT KEY – Rumble, a video-sharing platform, has filed a lawsuit against the founders of Check My Ads, a nonprofit advertising watchdog organization alleging the defendants launched a smear campaign against the company to divert advertisers from their platform.
Rumble, which is based in Longboat Key, filed the lawsuit in federal court against Nandini Jammi, Claire Atkin and several unnamed individuals, citing allegations of defamation.
According to court documents, the lawsuit claims Jammi and Atkin, co-founders of Check My Ads, along with Media Matters for America, spread false and defamatory statements about Rumble to persuade advertisers to withdraw their spending from the platform.
