Resident Sues Property Management Company Over Negligence Leading to Severe Injuries
A resident of Boca Vista Apartments has filed a lawsuit against the property management company, alleging severe negligence that led to significant injuries. Dale Hardnette lodged the complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on September 4, 2024, accusing Boca Vista Apartments, LLC of failing to maintain safe living conditions.
According to the court documents, Hardnette’s legal action stems from an incident on December 18, 2023. The plaintiff claims that while residing in an apartment managed by Boca Vista Apartments, LLC at 1820 NW 15th Vista BotaRaton in Palm Beach County, his foot went through a compromised floor. This accident resulted in multiple injuries and substantial suffering for Hardnette. The lawsuit contends that Boca Vista Apartments had a duty of care to ensure the safety and maintenance of their property but failed to do so.
The complaint details that Hardnette was an invitee and resident at the time of the incident and asserts that Boca Vista Apartments breached their duty by negligently maintaining the floors within their building. “As a result of this breach,” states the document, “the floor fell through and resulted in Plaintiff tripping inside his apartment.” The filing further elaborates on the extent of Hardnette’s injuries, which include disability, disfigurement, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of capacity for enjoyment of life, loss of income and earning capacity, as well as various medical expenses.
