Navigation Resident Sues Pet Owners Over Unprovoked Dog Attack
Rosa Ramos has filed a lawsuit seeking damages exceeding $50,000 against two individuals following an alleged unprovoked dog attack. The complaint was lodged in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on January 20, 2025, targeting Oscar Blanca and Nalaidi Perez as defendants.
The case stems from an incident that occurred on October 15, 2022. According to the complaint, Rosa Ramos was residing at the defendants’ property in Palm Beach County when she was attacked by their dog, Shula. As an invitee on the premises, Ramos claims that she suffered significant physical and mental injuries due to the attack. The plaintiff alleges that both defendants were aware of Shula’s presence on their property and are therefore strictly liable for her injuries under Florida Statute §767.04.
Ramos details her injuries as including physical harm, mental anguish, loss of past wages, and diminished future earning capacity. She further states that these injuries have led to permanent disability and disfigurement. The complaint accuses both Blanca and Perez of negligence in controlling their pet and failing to prevent the attack despite knowing about Shula’s presence.
