Plaintiffs Allege Negligence Against Multiple Auto Companies Following Airbag Failure
In a gripping legal battle unfolding in Palm Beach County, Florida, a local couple has filed a lawsuit against multiple automotive companies and an individual, alleging negligence and seeking substantial damages. The complaint was filed by Elrigea “DJ” McIntosh and his wife Tiffany McIntosh on March 27, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County. The defendants include FCA US, LLC, Sawgrass J Automotive Management, LLC (doing business as Arrigo Dodge), TBC Retail Group, Inc. (doing business as Tire Kingdom), Infiniti of the Palm Beaches, Inc., TT of Duval, Inc. (doing business as Jacksonville Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Ram Arlington), and Joe Thomas Baker.
The case centers around a severe automobile accident that occurred on November 13, 2023. According to the complaint, DJ McIntosh was driving a 2017 Dodge Challenger SXT when he was struck by another vehicle operated by Joe Thomas Baker at an intersection in West Palm Beach. Despite the severity of the collision, none of the airbags in McIntosh’s vehicle deployed. The plaintiffs allege that this failure significantly exacerbated DJ McIntosh’s injuries.
The lawsuit accuses FCA US LLC of designing and manufacturing a defective vehicle with faulty airbags that failed to deploy during the crash. It also claims that Arrigo Dodge, Tire Kingdom, Infiniti of the Palm Beaches, and Jacksonville Chrysler were negligent in inspecting and servicing the vehicle prior to the accident. Furthermore, Joe Thomas Baker is accused of operating his vehicle negligently by running a red light and causing the collision.
