Plaintiffs Allege JDRC Managed Services Failed to Pay Overtime Wages
A group of former employees has taken legal action against a managed services company, alleging unpaid overtime wages. The complaint was filed by Quinn Corder, Drew Morgan, Leah Smith, and Jessica Yacko on December 26, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida. The lawsuit targets JDRC Managed Services, LLC., accusing them of violating labor laws.
The plaintiffs claim that they were employed as Assistant Managers in various capacities such as Store, Dispensary, or Retail positions and were wrongfully classified as exempt from overtime pay. According to the lawsuit, these employees regularly worked more than forty hours per week without receiving appropriate overtime compensation. The complaint argues that this practice is a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which mandates that non-exempt employees receive one and a half times their regular pay rate for any hours worked beyond forty in a workweek.
In their collective action complaint, the plaintiffs assert that JDRC Managed Services maintained control over their employment conditions and had annual revenues exceeding $500,000 during the relevant periods. They argue that despite this financial capability, the company failed to compensate them adequately for their overtime work. “Defendant willfully violated the FLSA by failing to pay Named Plaintiffs’ and the Putative Collective Members overtime wages during the Collective Period,” states the complaint.
