A shocking incident has led to a lawsuit involving two prominent boat companies. Xandi Olivier filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on June 19, 2024, against Southern Cross Boatworks, Inc., and Rybovich Boat Company, LLC.

The complaint stems from an incident that occurred on November 8, 2023, at Safe Harbor New Port Cove in Riviera Beach. Olivier alleges that while walking on a scaffold to get onto a boat, she fell through due to its improper assembly and maintenance by Southern Cross Boatworks. According to the filing, “the scaffold was not properly assembled and/or maintained,” leading to serious injuries for Olivier. The plaintiff asserts that Southern Cross had a duty to ensure the scaffold was safe but failed in multiple ways, including not assembling it correctly and not warning her of the dangerous condition.

Olivier is seeking damages exceeding $50,000 for pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses, and aggravation of pre-existing conditions. She claims these losses are either permanent or ongoing.
