In a recent legal filing, Lieta Lefevre has lodged a negligence complaint against Whole Foods Market, IP, Inc., a foreign profit corporation. The complaint was filed by Lefevre on May 31, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in and for Pinellas County, Florida.

According to the details of the case (Case Number: 24-002425-CI), Lefevre claims that she was a business invitee at the Whole Foods Market located at 27001 US 19 N., Clearwater, FL on July 19, 2023. While shopping on the premises, she allegedly slipped and fell due to a slippery substance present in the common area/walkway. Lefevre asserts that she had no warning about this dangerous condition and was unaware of it despite exercising reasonable care.

The plaintiff’s complaint outlines several allegations against Whole Foods Market. It states that the defendant had a duty to maintain their premises in a reasonably safe condition for business invitees like Lefevre. However, it is alleged that Whole Foods Market failed to uphold this duty through various negligent actions and omissions. These include failing to have proper procedures for identifying and removing hazards, not adequately inspecting or maintaining common areas, insufficient training of employees regarding hazard management, and neglecting to warn customers about existing dangers.
