A Florida resident has taken legal action against two companies following a slip-and-fall incident that allegedly caused her significant injuries. On December 13, 2024, Pamela Guiden filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, against International Commercial Properties Milwaukee, LLC and William’s Submarine, Inc.

The lawsuit stems from an incident on September 8, 2022, when Guiden visited William’s Sub Shop located at Tyrone Plaza in St. Petersburg. According to the complaint, as she approached the entrance of the sub shop, she slipped on a puddle of water on a negligently maintained section of the sidewalk. This fall resulted in personal injuries that Guiden claims have led to ongoing pain and suffering. The plaintiff argues that both defendants failed in their duty to maintain safe premises for patrons and did not provide adequate warnings about known hazards.

Guiden’s complaint details her accusations against each defendant separately. She alleges that International Commercial Properties Milwaukee, LLC was responsible for maintaining the common areas of Tyrone Plaza, including the sidewalks used by business invitees like herself. The company is accused of negligence for allowing hazardous conditions such as uneven surfaces and pooled water to persist without warning or repair. Similarly, William’s Submarine, Inc., which operated and maintained the specific area where Guiden fell, is charged with failing to address these dangerous conditions despite being aware of them.
