A slip-and-fall incident at a construction site has led to a lawsuit seeking significant damages. Megan Almeida filed a complaint against American Empire Builders, Inc. in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, on October 25, 2024.

The case revolves around an alleged negligence incident that occurred on June 21, 2023. On this date, Almeida visited the premises owned and operated by American Empire Builders at Historic Roser Park in St. Petersburg, Florida. During her visit as a business invitee conducting an inspection, she slipped on slippery concrete and fell. Almeida asserts that American Empire Builders failed to maintain safe conditions on their property and neglected to warn her of the hazardous state of the walkways.

According to the complaint, Almeida sustained severe and permanent bodily injuries due to the fall. She claims that these injuries resulted from the negligent manner in which American Empire Builders managed and maintained their premises. The lawsuit accuses the company of failing to uphold its duty to provide a reasonably safe environment for its invitees and neglecting its responsibility to warn about or correct dangerous conditions they knew or should have known about.
