A Palm Beach County resident has taken legal action against three organizations following a slip-and-fall incident that resulted in severe injuries. Nestor Varelo filed a complaint on February 12, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, naming Golden Lakes Village Association, Inc., Golden Lakes Village Condominium Association “A”, Inc., and Seacrest Services, Inc. as defendants.

The lawsuit stems from an incident on July 8, 2023, when Varelo was on the premises of the defendants’ residential community at 172 Lake Dora Drive in West Palm Beach. According to the complaint, Varelo slipped and fell on a walkway that had been painted without slip-resistant material. The fall caused serious bodily injuries, including fractures to his right wrist that required surgery. Varelo alleges negligence on the part of all three defendants for failing to maintain safe conditions on their property.

Varelo’s complaint outlines specific duties owed by each defendant to ensure safety at the residential community known as Golden Lakes Village. These duties include maintaining the premises in a reasonably safe condition, inspecting and correcting dangerous conditions they knew or should have known about, and warning of such conditions. Additionally, they were expected to manage and instruct personnel to prevent dangerous conditions from occurring or continuing.
