Plaintiff Alleges Negligence Against Business Operators Following Delivery Mishap
In a gripping legal battle that underscores the potential dangers lurking in everyday business operations, Alexandre Bisconti has filed a lawsuit against Illinois Avenue Partners LLC, doing business as Oakhurst Signs & Graphics, and Skyway Realty LLC. The complaint was lodged on March 11, 2025, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. Bisconti accuses these companies of negligence leading to significant personal injury.
The lawsuit stems from an incident on July 19, 2022, when Bisconti was delivering large plastic sheets to a property managed by the defendants. According to the complaint, while performing his duties as a delivery driver at the premises located at 2400 31st Street in St. Petersburg, Florida, Bisconti was injured due to what he describes as a “makeshift” dock plate used by the defendants. This dock plate was allegedly unfit for its intended purpose and created an unreasonably dangerous condition. As employees of Illinois Avenue Partners attempted to move this makeshift dock plate, they inadvertently struck Bisconti with it, causing him injury.
Bisconti’s legal action is based on claims of negligence against both Illinois Avenue Partners LLC and Skyway Realty LLC. He argues that both entities failed in their duty to maintain safe premises and adequately train their employees to handle such equipment safely. The complaint highlights several alleged failures: not maintaining the premises in a reasonably safe condition; inadequate training and supervision of employees; failure to restrict access to hazardous areas; not warning about existing dangers; and failing to provide safe unloading facilities.
