Steve Havard has filed a lawsuit against two business entities, alleging negligence that led to personal injury. The complaint was filed on October 7, 2024, in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. The defendants named in the case are Palm Harbor Partners LLC and Angler Enterprises LLC, doing business as Bar Fly-Fish Shack Bar and Grill.

The case stems from an incident that occurred on October 24, 2020, when Steve Havard visited the premises located at 1026 Nebraska Ave, Palm Harbor, Florida. As a patron of the bar/restaurant owned and operated by the defendants, Havard claims he was owed a duty of care to be protected from dangerous conditions. According to the complaint, this duty was breached when Havard encountered a rotted wooden bench used for seating patrons. The plaintiff alleges that no safety precautions were taken by the defendants to inspect, repair, or remove this hazardous condition. Furthermore, they failed to warn him about it.

Havard’s fall resulted in significant injuries including bodily harm, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, inconvenience, physical impairment, medical expenses both past and future, loss of earnings and earning capacity, disfigurement and scarring. He claims these injuries are permanent and will continue to affect him in the future. “The negligent condition was created by the defendant,” reads part of his complaint which emphasizes that such conditions were either known or should have been known through reasonable inspection by those responsible for maintaining safe premises.
