Kasi N. Gonzalez has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, Inland Residential Real Estate Services, LLC, alleging racial and disability discrimination in the workplace. The complaint was filed on January 3, 2025, in the Circuit Court for the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida. Gonzalez claims that she faced discriminatory treatment during her employment as a Leasing Consultant and Social Community Ambassador.

According to the complaint, Gonzalez began working for Inland Residential Real Estate Services on September 14, 2022. She initially reported to Lindsay Godbold, who was supportive of her needs related to anxiety and depression. However, things took a turn for the worse when Trisha Sweet became her direct supervisor in June 2023. Gonzalez alleges that Sweet subjected her to daily microaggressions and passive-aggressive comments that made it difficult for her to perform her duties effectively.

Gonzalez describes instances where Sweet isolated her from coworkers, criticized trivial matters such as lunch breaks and clothing choices, and overloaded her with tasks only to reprimand her for not completing them on time. Additionally, Sweet allegedly belittled Gonzalez’s mental health struggles by calling her “too sensitive” and telling her to “toughen up.” These actions contributed to a hostile work environment that ultimately led to Gonzalez’s termination on December 28, 2023.
