According to the court documents, Patrick Saunders claims that on March 22, 2023, he visited a Lowe’s store located at 2365 25th St N., St. Petersburg, Florida. During his visit as a business invitee, Saunders tripped over a tie-down strap negligently left on the floor of the store’s walkway. This incident allegedly resulted in significant injuries and damages for Saunders. The plaintiff accuses Lowe’s Home Centers of failing to maintain safe premises and not adhering to reasonable safety standards expected of them. “Defendant owed Plaintiff a non-delegable duty to exercise reasonable care for his safety,” states the complaint.

The lawsuit outlines several specific allegations against Lowe’s Home Centers. It claims that the company negligently failed to maintain or adequately inspect their walkways, which created hazardous conditions for customers like Saunders. Furthermore, it is alleged that Lowe’s did not provide adequate warnings about potential dangers or correct known hazards promptly. “Negligently failing to follow its own corporate policy(ies) regarding the dangerous condition” is one of the accusations made by Saunders’ legal team.
