Patient Alleges Negligence Against Healthcare Facility Over Slip-and-Fall Incident
A Palm Beach County resident has filed a lawsuit against a prominent healthcare company, alleging negligence that led to significant personal injuries. Jorell Tassy filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida, on September 16, 2024, accusing Pediatric Associates Holding Company, LLC (PAHC) of failing to maintain safe premises.
According to the complaint, on January 4, 2023, Jorell Tassy visited PAHC’s facility at 10301 Hagen Ranch Road in Boynton Beach for a doctor’s appointment concerning his minor child. During this visit, Tassy claims he slipped and fell due to a foreign substance on the floor of one of the bathrooms. The plaintiff asserts that PAHC negligently maintained its floors and failed to inspect or rectify hazardous conditions adequately. “The negligent condition was known to the Defendant or had existed for a sufficient length of time that the Defendant should have known of it,” reads the complaint.
Tassy alleges that PAHC breached multiple duties owed to him as an invitee on their premises. These duties included exercising reasonable care for his safety, maintaining safe walkways and floors, correcting dangerous conditions promptly, and warning visitors about potential hazards. The plaintiff further contends that PAHC failed in its responsibilities by not implementing reasonable safeguards or providing adequate training to its employees regarding hazard rectification.
