Moody, other AGs send warning letters to robocall companies
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and the rest of a bipartisan task force warning four voice service providers that have been transmitting suspected illegal robocall traffic on their networks on behalf of one or more customers.
Moody is a member of the 51-attorney general Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force, which has been investigating these providers. In the warning letters, the task force informs the providers it already has shared the findings of its investigations with the Federal Communications Commission, which will consider appropriate next steps.
“As part of our Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force, we have been investigating several voice service providers and have concerns about companies that are allowing millions of scam robocalls to ring through to Americans’ phones,” Moody said. “We’re putting these companies on notice that their actions may violate state and federal consumer protection and telemarketing laws.”
