A Miami-Dade County resident has filed a lawsuit against three companies, alleging severe injuries from a water slide at a popular water park. Pablo Garcia Mavrich lodged the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida, on August 28, 2024, targeting Rapids Holdings Attractions, LLC (doing business as Rapids Water Park), Premier Parks, LLC, and EPR Parks, LLC.

According to the court documents, Mavrich was visiting Rapids Water Park on June 30, 2023. While using one of the water slides at around 12:30 p.m., he sustained significant ankle and back injuries due to what he claims was a defect in the slide. The plaintiff asserts that the defendants failed to inspect and maintain the rides properly, which led to his injuries. “The Defendants breached their duty by failing to maintain the slide that Plaintiff rode in a reasonably safe condition,” states Mavrich’s complaint.

Mavrich’s allegations are rooted in both negligence and premises liability. He accuses Rapids Holdings Attractions, Premier Parks, and EPR Parks of not only failing to inspect and maintain the rides but also neglecting to close those with known defects. Furthermore, he claims they did not provide adequate instructions or warnings about potential risks associated with specific rides. “Defendants knew of the dangerous condition and/or should have known because they existed for a significant amount of time,” Mavrich alleges.
