Holland & Knight Strengthens Corporate and Healthcare Practices with Addition of Ibrahim Barakat in Miami
Holland & Knight has bolstered its Corporate, M&A and Securities Practice Group with the addition of Ibrahim Barakat as a partner in Miami. Mr. Barakat represents public and private corporations, private equity funds and strategic investors in connection with a wide range of transactional and corporate matters. He was previously a partner with McDermott Will & Emery.
“Ibrahim is a very highly regarded attorney whose extensive client base, investment banking and other relationships and experience in private equity and M&A transactions, especially in healthcare, will help strengthen our relationships with current clients and grow our corporate practice,” said David Barkus, co-leader of the firm’s Corporate, M&A and Securities Practice Group and leader of the firm’s Private Equity Team. “Ibrahim’s experience with cross-border M&A transactions in Latin America also fits with the firm’s strengths and client needs. We are proud to have more than 200 bilingual attorneys in our Latin America practice, with Ibrahim now among them.”
“Holland & Knight recently reached a new milestone of more than 200 attorneys in our Miami office, and the addition of a talented attorney such as Ibrahim reaffirms our commitment to remain at the top of the market in the city,” said Wifredo Ferrer, executive partner of the firm’s Miami office. “Ibrahim is not only a very skilled attorney but also a great cultural fit for the firm who will be a valuable member of our South Florida team.”
