Matthew B. Gorson, senior chairman of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., was recognized as a 2023 Silver Medallion honoree at the annual MCCJ Humanitarian Dinner. The ceremony was held May 7 at the InterContinental Miami, with more than 400 business, political, religious, and other community leaders in attendance.

MCCJ has hosted the annual dinner since 1946 to honor outstanding community leaders who have helped to build a more welcoming, inclusive, just, and cooperative society. Greenberg Traurig was a presenting sponsor of the event.

“I am deeply honored to receive the Silver Medallion award and to be recognized by the city’s civic and community leadership for my work in helping to ensure that Miami is a place of opportunity for everyone,” Gorson said. “Now even more than ever, we need organizations like MCCJ to provide a voice for understanding, respect, and compassion. I also want to thank Greenberg Traurig, which has demonstrated a strong commitment to diversity and community service since its inception more than 55 years ago and long before it was a popular trend. The firm and its founders helped make me the lawyer I am today, but also inspired me to give back and make a positive difference in the community.”
