Fred E. Karlinsky, co-chair of the Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been reappointed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) for a term ending July 1, 2026.

Karlinsky currently serves as chair of the state Supreme Court JNC and previously was vice chair. He has served on the commission since being appointed by Gov. Rick Scott in 2014 and being re-appointed in 2018. He previously was on the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit JNC, serving as chair and vice chair.

JNCs select nominees to fill judicial vacancies within the Florida court system. Eligible applicants interview with the JNC, which then determines by majority vote which applicants to recommend to the governor for consideration, according to the governor’s JNC information website.
