In the County Court, Sixth Judicial Circuit, Pinellas County, Florida, a lawsuit has been filed by Florida Roof Specialists, Inc., a Florida corporation, against Sandra Ponczkowski. The case number is 24-001924-CO and was filed on March 1st, 2024. The suit is over damages less than $50,000 but greater than $8,000 exclusive of attorney’s fees, costs and interest.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendant entered into a Customer/Contractor Agreement with them on March 6th, 2023 for certain improvements to a property owned by the defendant. The plaintiff’s lawyer states that they provided an initial estimate of the Replacement Cost Value (RCV) of the roof to be $32,623.25. However, Assurant provided an estimate of $12,442.82 which was accepted by the defendant.

The plaintiff completed its duties under the contract on June 22nd, 2023 and presented a final estimate determining actual RCV of the roof to be $35,373.90. At this time they were owed $26,018.61 by the defendant.
