Florida Resident Sues Three Local Businesses Over Negligence Leading to Severe Injuries
A Florida resident has filed a lawsuit against three local businesses, alleging negligence after suffering severe injuries from a slip and fall. On September 17, 2024, Majd Mokhtar filed the complaint in the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Pinellas County, Florida, targeting Betty’s Launderette, Inc., Local Food Mart, LLC, and Save Well Mart LLC.
According to the court documents, Mokhtar claims that on June 23, 2024, he was lawfully on the premises of all three defendants when he slipped and fell on a slippery sidewalk. The plaintiff asserts that this hazardous condition was not only dangerous but also latent and defective. He accuses Betty’s Launderette and its agents of failing to maintain safe premises at their location on 66th Street North in Pinellas Park. Similarly, Local Food Mart and Save Well Mart are accused of similar negligence at their adjacent locations.
Mokhtar’s complaint outlines multiple alleged failures by each defendant. These include permitting him to walk on unsafe premises without proper care for his safety, failing to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition, neglecting to discover or remedy the dangerous condition timely, and not providing adequate warnings about the hazard. “Negligently and carelessly failed to give the Plaintiff timely notice and/or warning of the dangerous condition,” states one section of the complaint against all three defendants.
