Cruise passenger sues Royal Caribbean after allegedly injuring his hand in cabin door lock
MIAMI – A Florida man has filed a negligence lawsuit against Royal Caribbean Cruises claiming his hand was severely injured by a defective locking mechanism in his cabin’s door.
Mordekhay Mangel filed a lawsuit in federal court against Royal Caribbean Cruises citing allegations of negligence.
According to court documents, on August 3, 2022, Mangel was a passenger aboard Jewel of the Seas, a cruise ship owned, operated, and maintained by RCL. He claims he suffered injuries, including a partial amputation of his right ring finger, due to a defective locking mechanism on his stateroom door. The locking mechanism was allegedly defective, causing the door to suddenly and unexpectedly lock.
