On Tuesday, College of Law alumni and friends gathered virtually for the law school’s 2023 Alumni Awards celebration.

We honored Mark Ellis (’84) with the Distinguished Alum Award, for his professional accomplishments and outstanding service; Judge Suzanne Van Wyk (’94) with the Alumni Association Service Award, for her distinguished service to the College of Law; Rex Dimmig (’78) with the Exemplary Public Service Career Award, for dedicating his career to public service and demonstrating exceptional character, integrity, humility, and professionalism, as well as a high regard for ethics; Francisco Zornosa (’15) with the Everyday Hero Award, for enthusiastically using his legal training to make a more just and equitable society; and Dean Emeritus Don Weidner with the Class of ’66 Award, for his distinguished service to the law school and community. More than 50 alumni, faculty members, and friends and family members of the award recipients attended the event. We were pleased to honor these special members of the FSU Law community on Tuesday and to discuss their selfless contributions to our school and the legal profession. It was inspiring to hear why they have chosen to support and champion FSU Law. If you were unable to join the Zoom celebration, you can watch the recording online.
