Navigation Akiesha Gilcrist Sainvil Appointed to Preeclampsia Foundation Board of Directors
Akiesha Gilcrist Sainvil, a Litigation Practice shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been appointed to serve on the Preeclampsia Foundation Board of Directors.
The Preeclampsia Foundation is a not-for-profit patient advocacy organization whose mission is to improve the outcomes of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy by educating, supporting and engaging the community, improving health care practices, and finding a cure. Globally, preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal and infant illness and death, taking the lives of over 76,000 moms and 500,000 babies each year, according to the organization’s website.
“As a two-time survivor of preeclampsia, raising awareness and supporting research for this cause is something very personal to me and to my family,” said Sainvil, a mother of two young children. “I look forward to working closely with the other board members to help individuals and families affected by this condition. Together, we can ensure they have access to the critical resources they need.”
