The Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association has established the Sen. Arthenia L. Joyner Public Service Award, honoring the legacy and lifelong dedication to justice of Florida state Sen. Arthenia L. Joyner, the longest practicing Black woman lawyer in the history of Florida.
The award will recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to public service, equality, and social justice, echoing Sen. Joyner’s advocacy for civil rights and equal opportunities.
