Legal Aid Service of Collier County is conducting its Third Annual ‘Take a Stand Against Domestic Violence 5K Run/Walk’ on Saturday, October 23, at Sugden Park in Naples beginning at 8 a.m.

The founder of the race, Tina Nash, is a domestic violence survivor who started the event to spread awareness about the resources available through Legal Aid to those at-risk and to raise funds for the projects operating within Legal Aid that serve hundreds of victims of domestic violence and abused children annually.

“We are humbled and so proud to be a part of this great event founded by Tina Nash, who has the courage to share her story of abuse on a very public platform in an effort to bring others to safety and the chance for a new life free from abuse through our free legal services,” said Jeffrey Ahren, Legal Aid’s director of development. “Legal Aid is also grateful to all of our generous sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who has signed up to run or walk.  We know that so many people’s lives have been impacted by domestic violence, and we hope that everyone who cares deeply about this cause joins us on Saturday at Sugden Park as we take a stand against domestic violence and offer real and tangible help for those in need.”
