At least one survey suggests there’s growing public confidence in state courts, despite judges nationwide facing a recent wave of threats and harassment.

A “State of the State Courts” survey of 1,000 registered voters from December 2024 showed 63% of respondents expressing a “great deal” or “some” confidence in state courts — a 2% gain from 2023.

The survey showed 59% of respondents expressed the same level of confidence in their state legislature, 58% in their governor, 57% in the federal courts, and 54% in the U.S. Supreme Court.
