Supreme Court outlines Florida Judicial College’s new education requirements
The Florida Court Education Council has recently developed a series of educational programs designed to teach new court officers the essential information and skills necessary to fulfill their judicial duties.
On December 19, Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Carlos G. Muñiz signed Administrative Order AOSC22-109 which sets these programs into motion under the auspices of the Florida Judicial College. The education component will roll out in two phases and will assist in preparing every new justice, judge, general magistrate, and child support enforcement hearing officer for public service.
The 2023 Florida Judicial College’s Phase I program is scheduled for January 8-13, 2023, and will provide new court members with an orientation program as well as a trial skills workshop. The Phase II program will begin March 5-10, 2023, with a curriculum focused on complex substantive and procedural matters.
