Four of Florida’s state attorney offices and four of 19 public defenders have contested races this year.

Fifteen incumbent public defenders were re-elected without opposition as were 14 incumbent state attorneys. Newcomer William Scheiner will become the state attorney in the 18th Circuit as no one filed to run against him when qualifying ended April 26 to replace long-time State Attorney Phil Archer, who is not seeking re-election.

(The 20th Circuit public defender and state attorney positions will be on the ballot in the 2026 election cycle; all others are up this year.)
