St. Thomas Law celebrates anniversary of its Benjamin L. Crump Law Center for Social Justice
Ben Crump
The Benjamin L. Crump Law Center for Social Justice recently hit a milestone. Just one year removed from its opening on the campus of the St. Thomas University College of Law, the center, which opened as a new way to prepare the next generation of diverse young lawyers, celebrated its inaugural group of students to pass the Florida bar exam on their journey to esquire.
The center was founded by Florida Bar member and Florida State law school alumnus Ben Crump, who stands to increase minority representation in the profession. St. Thomas University has one of the most diverse law schools in the nation, drawing 78% of its students from minority populations. Crump’s creation helps give St. Thomas the tools and resources needed to provide curriculum opportunities for law students so they can become experts in civil rights and intercultural human rights.
