Sovereign immunity reform bill clears final House committee

A Southwest Florida lawmaker’s latest attempt to reform Florida’s sovereign immunity laws is ready for the House floor after clearing a final committee.

The House Judiciary Committee voted 12-2 on December 11 to approve HB 145 by Republican Rep. Fiona McFarland, a Navy veteran and Sarasota business owner.
