A Supreme Court recommendation to create a Sixth District Court of Appeal, and seven new appellate judgeships, has cleared key House and Senate committees.

The House Appropriations Committee voted overwhelmingly February 9 to approve HB 7027 by Rep. Tommy Gregory, R-Bradenton. The Senate Appropriations Committee unanimously moved its version, SB 2522, the same day.
