Navigation Scam Alert: Fake emails purport to be from the Bar’s Lawyer Regulation staff
Beware, another email scam is making the rounds.
This time it’s fraudulent emails from spoofed email accounts designed to look like they are from Ruth Rivera of The Florida Bar’s Tampa Office. The subject line says, “Be Advised” and the content of the email has a link that reads “Notice of complaint” and another that reads “view and download.” There may be others that use the name of a different Bar counsel.
These emails are not from The Florida Bar and if you receive such an email, the best course of action is to immediately delete it. Never open attachments from unknown senders. The Florida Bar will not send any notices of complaints filed via email.
