The COVID-19 pandemic may be putting a crimp in many business and personal activities, but the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section has managed to boost participation in section activities by promoting its virtual meetings.

Section Chair Bill Hennessey said the section saw a 50% to 75% attendance rise at its August 20-22 gathering, which included its annual Legislative Update CLE on August 21 as well as committee and Executive Council meetings.

“When we decided to go from our anticipated in-person format to virtual, we decided to look at this as an opportunity to reach out to our entire section and try to encourage participation at a broader level,” Hennessey said. “We decided it would be best and appropriate to reach out and invite our entire section; of course, they’re always invited to our meetings but there’s travel required.”
