A Senate bill that would allow prosecutors to request a resentencing hearing whenever they believe the original “no longer serves the interest of justice” now has a House companion.

Miami Democrat Mike Grieco, an attorney, filed HB 395 on January 22. The comprehensive sentencing reform measure contains a provision that is similar to SB 662 by Senate Judiciary Chair Jeff Brandes, R-St. Petersburg.
