A Northwest Florida lawmaker wants to give veterans’ courts and mental health courts the same public records exemptions that apply to other specialty courts.

Republican Rep. Patt Maney, a retired brigadier general and former Okaloosa County judge, told the House Criminal Justice Subcommittee that HB 715 would encourage greater participation in veterans and mental health treatment courts.
