The Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization and Education will offer remote board certification exams this year for all 27 areas of law.

The First cycle exams will be held March 11-12 and the second cycle exams are set for May 13-14, with the option of an in-person examination in Tampa adhering to social distancing protocols. BLSE made the decision in response to the increase in Covid-19 cases and for the safety of the examinees.

The Florida Bar board certification program successfully administered the 2020 second cycle exams remotely in September using Exam Soft Worldwide software, with 136 attorneys taking the remote test and 11 opting to take the handwriting exam in Tampa. Examinees who choose the remote option must have access to the technology required by Exam Soft software, including a computer, internet connection, and a webcam for monitoring the examinees during the test.
