Judges would have more guidance for accommodating service animals under proposed revisions to the Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration.

At a May 20 meeting in Tampa, the Board of Governors voted 40-0-0 to accept proposed amendments to Rules of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.540 (Requests for Accommodations by Persons with Disabilities).

RGPJA Committee Chair Sandy Solomon told the board that the revisions were requested in 2018 by then Second Judicial Circuit Judge James Hankinson.
