Having a pro bono summit at the next Bar Annual Convention, pepping up circuit pro bono committees, and looking for ways to help a pro bono program for government lawyers proposed by Attorney General Ashley Moody were discussed by members of the Pro Bono Legal Services Committee at its October 14 meeting.

Committee Co-chair Kathleen McLeroy said a subcommittee to plan the pro bono summit will be meeting shortly.

“The purpose of the summit is to enhance awareness of the various pro bono access projects, to prevent or eliminate project redundancy, to foster cooperation, brainstorm about how to leverage resources and reduce obstacles…and other related topics,” McLeroy said.
