Pro Bono Legal Services Committee hears first judicial report on Florida obstacles to services
Judge Pat Seitz
The Pro Bono Legal Services Committee on Wednesday contemplated how to increase access to free services across the state considering a lack of funding, of attorneys handling cases, and of understanding on behalf of low-income people who find themselves in court on when to hire a lawyer.
U.S. Southern District Judge Patricia Seitz, at the helm of the panel’s new Judicial Advisory Council, presented its first report on the problems facing pro bono work across Florida. The group compiled nine pages outlining the obstacles and highlighting what’s working.
