Pineyro petitions for Bar reinstatement
Pursuant to Rule 3-7.10, Johnny A. Pineyro of Orlando has petitioned the Supreme Court of Florida for reinstatement to The Florida Bar.
Pineyro was suspended from practice of law for 91 days, by an order of the Supreme Court of Florida dated January 30, 2025, effective March 1, 2025. Pineyro was suspended because after a motion for sanctions was filed in a civil matter, he felt it was necessary to explain to the court that he was not counsel in the interpleader action at issue. Pineyro drafted an affidavit, which he sent to his attorney who made substantial changes to the affidavit. Pineyro then signed the affidavit without thoroughly reviewing the content. His attorney filed it with the court. The affidavit failed to explain that Pineyro had assisted counsel in the case by reviewing a few pleadings and answering some questions, which led to additional litigation. After several days of testimony in the interpleader action, the court entered an order denying the motion for sanctions and referring Pineyro to The Florida Bar and found that the affidavit was not accurate regarding Pineyro’s involvement in the representation.
Any persons having knowledge bearing upon Pineyro’s fitness or qualifications to resume the practice of law should contact Jill Marie Hampton, Bar Counsel, The Florida Bar — Orlando Branch Office, 1000 Legion Place, Suite 1625, Orlando 32801, phone 407-425-5424, jhampton@floridabar.org.
