New LegalFuel podcast highlights importance of succession planning for Florida attorneys
Succession planning may not always top a lawyer’s to-do list, but it’s a crucial part of running a responsible and resilient law practice. To help Florida attorneys better prepare for both expected transitions and unforeseen circumstances, the Practice Resource Center of The Florida Bar released a podcast August 4 titled, “Early Succession Planning Protects Your Clients and Secures Your Future.”
The podcast features guest Tom Lenfestey, founder and CEO of The Law Practice Exchange, in conversation with LegalFuel hosts Christine Bilbrey and Jamie Moore. Lenfestey is a nationally recognized expert on law firm succession and exit strategies. He has led The Law Practice Exchange in becoming a resource for attorneys navigating firm sales, acquisitions, and career transitions.
The podcast explores why every attorney — especially solo practitioners and small firm owners — should prioritize succession planning well before retirement. It addresses not only long-term transitions, but also emergencies such as unexpected incapacity, death, or disaster. Lenfestey offers practical insights into how attorneys can create a plan that protects their clients, staff, and the future value of their firm.
