New Corporate Counsel Committee expands rapidly; board tackles full agenda
The Board of Governors, at a December 5 meeting in Central Florida, received a Supreme Court update from Chief Justice Carlos Muñiz and rejected a proposal to add a Florida Bar-themed credit card to the Member Benefits Program.
The board also learned that a new initiative by President Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes, the Corporate Counsel Committee, has become wildly popular, swelling to 67 members since its first meeting in June.
Addressing the board in Orlando, Muñiz discussed the branch’s priorities for the upcoming legislative session and paid tribute to his friend and mentor, Justice Charles Canady, who is retiring after 17 years.
