Marty Kiar

The Tax Section presented 2021 and 2022 Marvin C. Gutter Public Service awards during its recent organizational meeting at Amelia Island. Outgoing Chair Harris L. Bonnette, Jr., gave the 2021 award to Broward County Property Appraiser Martin “Marty” Kiar and current Chair Mark R. Brown presented the 2022 award to Internal Revenue Service Special Counsel Fred F. Murray.

The Tax Section established the Marvin C. Gutter Outstanding Public Service Award in 2010 to recognize Gutter’s many years of public service in government, in the legal profession, and in charitable organizations. Gutter died in 2010 after a two-year battle with esophageal cancer.
